If i go in for a job interview should i have facial hair?

Im eighteen and am scruffy looking right now. I plan on either trimming it down, shaving it all off, or getting a goatee. What are your thoughts

I've had some degree of facial hair most of my life. I have hired and been hired. My suggestions:

Neat is necessary. Regardless of the coverage, any hair, facial or on scalp, needs to be clean, neat, trimmed.

Mustache - nobody cares unless it's a Fu Manchu or handlebar

Goatee - sculpt it like an MLB pitcher, not like a gang-banger

Full face - hardest to bring off - again, it has to be neat and trim

Big consideration, too - what kind of job, in what kind of industry? Lots of employeers don't want people whose appearance does not conform to their norms. Others welcome anyone and everyone.

If you plan on shaving it anyway, you may as well do it before the interview, but facial hair should be ok as long as it is neat and trim, definitely not if you are "scruffy."

i think you should clean it up a bit...maybe leave a nice trimmed goatee, you want to look professional not scruffy. And as you get hired then they will say if you can keep the goatee or have to shave it.

To avoid any judgements from the interviewer, I think you should stick to the classical thing.. Shave everything.. go very neat and clean.. You have to look professional in everybody's eyes... Good luck! :-)

Shave it all off. You'll appear clean, neat and tidy. Employers equate that with honestly.
