Personally I like a short beard. I don't dig the whole "shaping" thing that a lot of guys do (line of hair at the jaw, or goatee, or tuft of hair on the lower lip), which is unfortunate because it looks like they put a lot of work into it.

A lot of it has to do with the shape of your face, your haircut, any facial piercings, whether or not you wear glasses... the great thing about facial hair is it always grows back, so you've got a lot of time to experiment. Get a trusted female friend (or the girl whose affections you are trying to win, if you are brave!) to give her honest opinion on the overall picture. Also your barber may help keep you looking spiffy but probably can't offer any insight as to what girls find attractive.

Facial hair can help fix "problem areas...." I've noticed that guys with chubby cheeks can camouflage them with a five o'clock shadow; guys with a slightly receeded chin can give the illusion of a bigger chin with a full beard with no moustache; the guys who can pull off those lower lip dots or triangles are the slim-faced poet types ;)

The guy I'm seeing now (probably older than you) has slightly thinning hair and a slim face. he wears a nice moustache, very typical shape (no handlebar, foo manchu, etc) and he looks incredibly hot.

It's probably got something to do with the age of the girl you're trying to attract. A clean shaven man looks younger and will probably appeal to younger girls, a guy with neatly trimmed facial hair looks older but still put together. Really hairy faces tend to age you and also to collect food and get mussed by the wind, so you'd have to be very meticulous in keeping it groomed.

Without! It hurts when they rub their stubble all over your bare skin. I don't wanna kiss somebody who is all prickly.

It really depends on the guy. I think having some stubble gives off that rugged look, which can be really sexy. Some guys look better clean...it varies.

OH. But might I add...I love soul patches. That little spot right underneath your lip. That's a big turn-on for me.

I like how my hubby has his facial hair. He just has it trimmed, so it's not scruffy and not to long. I on't like beards, as they're to prickly when I go for a kiss from him, but I like the trimmed look, as it gived him a bit of a rugged look that definately suits him. I prefer that over completely smooth shaven, as well; as after an hour or so; it gets so prickly. It really does depend on the individual woman, though, that's just my personal opinion, but I hope it helps you out a bit.
